The $500 million project, dubbed “The Ocean Odyssey,” aims to create a world-class destination for tourists and locals alike. The centerpiece of the development will be a sprawling pier extending over 2,000 feet into the Atlantic Ocean. “This pier will not only provide stunning panoramic views but also serve as a platform for a variety of attractions and activities,” said Mayor Bethune. “From fishing and boating to sunset cruises and live entertainment, there will be something for everyone to enjoy.” Adjacent to the pier will be a state-of-the-art amusement park, featuring thrilling rides, interactive exhibits, and family-friendly attractions. The park will be designed to cater to all ages and interests, offering a mix of high-octane roller coasters, splash-tastic water rides, and educational experiences. “This amusement park will be a vibrant addition to our beachfront and will create a one-of-a-kind destination that draws families and visitors from far and wide,” added Mayor Bethune. The Ocean Odyssey project is expected to create thousands of new jobs and generate significant economic activity for Myrtle Beach.
