Baltimore’s Charm City Circulator Expands to Fells PointBaltimore’s Charm City Circulator Expands to Fells Point The popular Charm City Circulator, Baltimore’s free shuttle bus service, is expanding its route to include the historic Fells Point neighborhood. Starting in the fall of 2023, the new Purple Route will connect Fells Point to downtown Baltimore and other attractions. The Purple Route will operate seven days a week, from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Buses will stop every 10-15 minutes at key destinations, including: * Fells Point Pier * Thames Street * Broadway Pier * Canton Crossing * Horseshoe Casino * Inner Harbor The expansion into Fells Point is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to improve public transportation options and make it easier for residents and visitors to explore Baltimore. Fells Point, known for its cobblestone streets, lively bars, and historic waterfront, is a popular tourist destination and a vibrant neighborhood. “This expansion will make it even easier for people to visit and explore Fells Point,” said Mayor Brandon Scott. “The Charm City Circulator is a convenient and affordable way to get around the city, and it’s great to see it expanding to new destinations.” The Charm City Circulator currently operates four routes: the Orange Route (Inner Harbor to Johns Hopkins University), the Green Route (Harbor East to Canton Square), the Blue Route (University of Maryland Medical Center to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center), and the Yellow Route (City Hall to the Zoo). The Purple Route will be the fifth route in the Circulator system, and it is expected to attract a significant ridership from both tourists and local residents. The expansion is funded by the Baltimore City Department of Transportation and the Maryland Department of Transportation. “We are excited to expand the Charm City Circulator to Fells Point,” said Transportation Director Steve Sharkey. “This expansion will provide a valuable transportation option for visitors and residents alike, and it will help to connect Fells Point to the rest of the city.”
