Jackson, Mississippi: City Denies Rumors of Alien InvasionJackson, Mississippi: City Denies Rumors of Alien Invasion Jackson, Mississippi – City officials have vehemently denied rumors circulating on social media that an alien invasion is underway in the capital city. “These baseless claims are simply not true,” Mayor Chokwe A. Lumumba stated in a press conference. “We have confirmed with law enforcement, emergency services, and our military partners that there is no credible evidence to support these unfounded allegations.” The rumors originated from a viral video purportedly showing unidentified flying objects (UFOs) over the Capitol Building. However, officials have dismissed the footage as a hoax or misidentification of common aircraft. “Our city is safe and secure,” Colonel James Davis, chief of the Jackson Police Department, emphasized. “We urge residents to remain calm and not spread false information that can create unnecessary panic.” The city has also activated its Emergency Operations Center (EOC) as a precautionary measure but has not implemented any special protocols or restrictions. “The EOC is in constant communication with state and federal agencies to monitor any potential threats,” said Deputy Mayor Tyree Jones. “However, we want to assure the public that there is no immediate danger.” Officials have appealed to the public to be responsible in their use of social media and to avoid spreading misinformation. They have also encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity to local authorities. “We understand that these types of rumors can be unsettling,” Mayor Lumumba said. “But we want to assure everyone that we are taking every necessary step to ensure the safety and security of our city.”
