Among the over 100 professional and amateur cooks competing, it was “The Blazing Inferno” by rookie team “Fire Breathing Dragons” that took the top spot for the hottest chili. The dish’s scorching Scoville rating of 3,000,000 units dwarfed the previous record of 2,500,000 units set in 2015. “It’s a testament to the passion and creativity of our chili cooks,” said event organizer Karen Guerrero. “Anaheim has always been a melting pot of flavors, and this year’s cook-off truly showcased the fiery spirit of our city.” The crowd of over 20,000 attendees gasped and cheered as team captain Jake “Inferno” Jackson meticulously prepared “The Blazing Inferno.” The dish featured a blend of ghost peppers, habaneros, and Carolina Reapers, slow-cooked with beef, beans, and secret spices. “We wanted to create something truly unforgettable,” said Jackson. “This chili is not for the faint of heart, but it’s a culinary masterpiece for those who dare to taste the fire.” In addition to the record-breaking heat, the cook-off also awarded prizes for best overall chili, best vegetarian chili, and most creative chili. The event raised over $50,000 for local charities. The Anaheim Chili Cook-Off has become an annual tradition that celebrates the city’s rich culinary heritage and its love of spice. This year’s record-breaking heat has set a new benchmark for future years, proving that the fiery spirit of Anaheim knows no bounds.
