Officers responded to the scene after receiving a 911 call from a neighbor who reported hearing a disturbance. Upon arrival, they discovered Gonzalez’s body and immediately launched an investigation. Through witness interviews and meticulous evidence collection, detectives identified 35-year-old Jose Rodriguez as a suspect. He was arrested on Tuesday, January 24th, and charged with capital murder. Rodriguez is accused of breaking into Gonzalez’s apartment and stabbing her multiple times during an altercation.
